Lesson 5: Vision

Writer: AnkiaAnkia

Scripture Reference:

John 3:3

"unless one are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God"

Reading Guide for Mom and Dad:

God always had the same unchangeable Vision since before the ages. This is His Plan and Purpose, a clear path giving direction. Where there is Vision there is LIFE, DIRECTION, PURPOSE, ORDER and people are CLOTHED by the SPIRIT. There is a mindset of the TREE OF LIFE.

Before Genesis 3 Adam and Eve had a clear understanding of God's Vision, their eyes were open to the Plan and Purpose of God. They were clothed, most probably with the Glory of God and His Light radiating from them. In the moment Eve and Adam ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, their eyes were closed to God's Vision and opened to the Wisdom of the World. (Gen 3:7 says that the eyes of both of them were opened).

Man started living by his senses, by what he sees and not by hearing the Voice of God. Man was made naked, he lost the Crown of Glory enabling him to Rule over creation. The Vision of God was hidden and became THE MYSTERY.

It had to remain hidden, for had they known, they would not have crucified Jesus.

1 Cor 2:6 "However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in the mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."

Before the Cross, when sin entered into the world, God's Vision hidden - it became the Mystery. At the Cross Jesus Christ fulfilled the Vision of God. In Him it is FINISHED at the Cross. After the cross God revealed the Mystery.

When we are born again we have the ability (in Christ) to understand God's Vision and God's Mission. According to John 3:3 we have the ability to see the Kingdom of God. Our eyes can be opened to the Wisdom of God, the mindset of the Tree of Life and the Revelation of the MYSTERY. All of this made possible by what our Lord Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross!

Jesus revealed the MYSTERY to the two disciples on their way to Emmaus. We read about this in Luke 24. It was a REVELATION EXPLOSION for them! It says in Luke 24: 32 that their hearts burned within them.

Luke 24:30 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight.

God clothes us with His Spirit when He restores us:

Luke 24:49 Behold I send the Promise of My Father upon you, but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high. The word endued is translated as clothed in the Amplified Bible. We have a good Father!

Conversation Starters with the little ones:

God gives us His Word like a treasure map! He gives us the Bible so that we can seek out and find His treasure: His Plan and Purpose for our lives. Would you like to know what God's treasure is? Would you like to see His Vision for yourself?

Teach them to Rule and Multiply:

Leave clues around the garden or house: create a treasure hunt for the little ones! Each clue can be a set of actions to complete. For example: 10 x Froggy jumps on the trampoline and 10 x Jumping Jacks in order to get the next clue. Be creative and keep it fun! The treasure can be anything! You know your children the best. Encourage them to help each other complete the tasks, working together towards one Vision! If you have the same Vision less time is spend on division. Our treasure hunt ended with a treasure of quality time spent on top of the jungle gym. a Picnic with blankets, cushions, chocolate and a reading from our favorite book!

My children surprised me with their own treasure hunt for Mom! At night! (of course, right?!) My treasure was this little gem, left under a rock for me to find:

What I noticed was their joy in me finding the treasure!

Kettle Prayer Suggestion:

Holy Spirit you are most welcome in our home. Make our hearts your dwelling place and open my children's eyes to Your Vision. Amen
