Reading Guide for Mom and Dad:
At the Cross, everything is FINISHED! This is where Jesus made a marriage covenant with us and our sins are dealt with. We've been given the righteousness of God. Not only our sins are dealt with but Jesus took onto Himself all sicknesses, all pain so that we can live in divine health.
Isaiah 53 is the picture of Jesus on the Cross:
Isaiah 52:14 Just as many were astonished at you, So His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men;
This is what Jesus looked like on the cross.
Isaiah 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs(sicknesses) and carried our sorrows(pain) Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed.
That word "griefs" is the word "sicknesses" if you look at the meaning of the word.
In the Amplified translation this verse reads:
surely He has borne our griefs, sicknesses, and distresses and carried our sorrows and pains.
The word "sorrows" is "pains". So Jesus carried our griefs, sicknesses, and our pains.
Just as our sins are taken away, on the Cross also our sicknesses are taken away.
The way for us to appropriate and experience that is we have to be IN Christ and we have to BELIEVE it.
It is BY FAITH.
Even though Jesus became sin for us and we received His righteousness it says in
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God IN Him.
It says: that we can BECOME the righteousness of God.
There is still a process of us BELIEVING it. It is not us "working" for it or us "trying to earn it" but is us "believing" it.
This has to do with our relationship with God, as we grow in our relationship with Him. Our relationship with God comes through the FINISHED work of the Cross.
Matthew 8:16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying; "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses".
The fact that He was healing people was because He took it onto Himself.
Conversation Starters with the little ones:
What does it mean to believe something? When you are convinced that something is true, you believe it. Read Isaiah 53 together as often as possible during these two weeks. We can believe the Bible because it is the TRUTH: The Word of God.
We made an A4 print-out with the words of Isaiah 53 on it and we put it against our wall in our dining room. This reminds us that the starting point of our relationship with God is the finished work of the cross.

Teach them to Rule and Multiply:
If God is IN us and if we are IN Christ then we've become one with Him at the Cross. Read the following scripture together: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation
Take an envelope and write with a marker on it "ME", or your names: "MIA" and "DIVAN".
Now take a second bigger envelope and write on it "JESUS CHRIST"
Now put the first one into the second envelope - explain to the little ones that we are IN Him, because we believe that Jesus is our Lord.
Now read the following scripture together: John 17:21 that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one IN Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
Take a bigger envelope and write on it "Father".
It says in John 17 that Jesus is IN the Father. Now put the envelope with the words "Jesus Christ" inside of the bigger envelope. Where is the envelope with your name on it?
This is our position when we become children of God, completely secure - this has been God's Vision since the beginning of creation!

Kettle Prayer suggestions:
Lord Jesus, open the spiritual eyes of my children, let them realize where they are positioned, and who they are IN You. Amen
